Course Materials for Civil Procedure
Fall 2008

1) Field, Kaplan & Clermont, Civil Procedure (9th ed. 2007) (required)

2) Glannon, Civil Procedure: Examples and Explanations (6th ed. 2008) (required)

3) Supplementary materials, links to which can be found on the syllabus (required). The Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, relevant federal statutes governing civil procedure in federal courts, and the United States Constitution are available in their entirely online. But you should make use of the links provided in the syllabus when studying the assigned provisions, because these links give you an edited version that excludes unrelated and unassigned material.

Note 1: On December 1, 2007, stylistic revision of the entire Federal Rules of Civil Procedure came into effect. These changes were not intended to change the substance of the rules (although revisions of substance were made to a few rules and a new rule 5.2 was created). In this course, I will refer to the revised version.
